Tappahannock (September 22, 2008)

On Sept. 14, several St. Margaret’s students and faculty jumped in the Rappahannock River to compete in the annual River Swim.

After a chapel service on Anderton House Beach, the participants attempted to complete the mile-long swim across the river. Several kayakers and boaters served as spotters for the event. Eighteen students and four faculty members made it to the wildlife reserve on the other side. Junior Meghan Sisk of Richmond (middle), sophomore Amy Hebbel of Hilton Head, S.C. (right), and junior Frankie Berscak of Kitty Hawk, N.C. (left) were the top three finishers in that order.
