Mrs. Harter began her career at St. Margaret's as a tutor in the ESL program in 2003. The next year, she joined the History Department, teaching ESL American Culture as well as Geography and Civics. Between 2006 and 2010 she left St. Margaret’s with her family to return to her husband’s home in the Shenandoah Valley. There she served as the first full-time Special Collections Librarian at James Madison University.
Mrs. Harter and her family returned to St. Margaret's in 2010, where she taught Introduction to Literature and Composition for the English Department, and American Culture for the ESL Department. In 2011, she returned to the History Department to teach Civics and World Geography, and continued to teach ESL American Culture. An enthusiastic runner and former SMS Cross Country coach (2004-2005), she will enjoy coaching Cross Country again this fall. Mrs. Harter lives with her husband Dale, and daughter Lauren.
