While studying mathematics at Longwood University, Ms. Swandby worked with many students in various math courses through tutoring and nightly coaching sessions in the Learning Center. She continued tutoring mathematics and statistics while attending North Carolina State University. Her teaching interests include integrating technology into the mathematics classroom to enhance student understanding and providing opportunities to students to become strong problem solvers. Along with her love of mathematics, Ms. Swandby adores cats, enjoys playing the piano, and relaxes by making various crafts.
